Tourism Futures International (TFI) publishes to this Website on a regular basis the Asia Pacific Analyst. As the title suggests the key geographical focus is the Asia Pacific region. Within the Asia Pacific region TFI is interested in the performance of, and prospects, for the leisure and tourism markets and the industries serving these markets.

As data is received TFI publishes monthly reviews of international visitor arrivals into fifteen individual countries throughout the Asia Pacific region, as well as resident departures from six of these countries. The data is   accessible on a sub-regional basis, showing arrivals by main source markets into the Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Oceania and North American regions.

The publication is not another news service - there are many of these already. Rather the focus is analysis. TFI will focus on market analysis as the basis for understanding the core pressures on industries. Also of interest are supply factors and the response by industry participants to competitive pressures.

Underlying these analyses will be the economic fundamentals of the region. The industries served by TFI largely rely on discretionary consumer spending for growth. Thus it becomes important to identify likely movements in discretionary incomes and the allocation of this income between competing product areas.
