TFI’s philosophy is that good strategic intelligence underpins good strategy.  The Strategic Plan reflects anticipated changes in the global economic and aviation environments, and the prospects for the region to capitalise on emerging opportunities for service and industry development.

Specific assignments have included:

  • Input to various Destination Aviation Strategies.
  • Development of a strategy for growing/securing air services in Pacific Islands.
  • Review of air services to, and from, specific airports and the development of strategies to increase international visitors and strengthen the case for additional air services.
  • Evaluation of tourism potential and aviation development strategy for regions within countries and for whole countries.

Feasibility and Strategic Studies

TFI undertakes strategic assessments for proposed new airlines, airports, hotels and tourism operations.

Specific assignments have included:

  • Reviews of business plans for start-up airlines in Australia and in Asia.
  • Development of a business model for a start-up low cost airline in the Asia Pacific.
  • Assessment of the feasibility of a new airline operation in the Oceania region.
  • Preparation of forecasts for a possible new airport.
  • Reviews of tourism industry product, access and prospects and recommendations for new and improved airline services.
  • Facilitation of Strategic Planning, and scenario development, workshops.  Conduct of airline business planning session for the International Air Services Commission in Australia.
